# Thru Blog

> Notes from the team building Thru, a RISC-V Layer-1 blockchain. Protocol design, research, product, and the reasoning behind them.

- This is editorial writing about design decisions, not reference documentation.
  It explains why things work the way they do. For anything load-bearing about how
  to use Thru, read the documentation instead: https://thru.org/docs/llms.txt
- Posts describe the protocol as of their publication date, which is listed on each
  entry below. A design described here may have moved since. The docs are current;
  a post is a snapshot.
- Every post has a markdown twin at the same path with a `.md` suffix. Prefer it
  over the HTML page. The links below already point at it.
- Posts contain interactive figures that carry part of the argument. Those cannot
  render as text and appear in the markdown as a bracketed note. The prose around
  each one is written to stand on its own, so nothing is lost by not seeing them.
